Using a 8103 JR G-Pete. Found a golden rod anchor that had come loose and was letting the cable flex instead of moving the throttle. I think I've got it fixed but haven't had a chance to run the engines up again yet.

I have flown mine about 6 times and love the sound of twins
my G 26s are within about 300 rpm of each other on the ground
and I can not tell any difference in the air.
this thing lands so well I dont need the flaps to land
But like to use them for show
I now have the bomb bay rigged to drop THINGS
I am in the early stagesso right now I just put the bombs and rockets in the bay and close it
when it opens out they come.

For the past few weeks we have had terrible winds around here 30+mph
I am planning on going to Warbirds over Oklahomaif the wind is below 30 I will be there

Hellcat56 be interested in anything you might do to the bombay for dropping bombs. I can probably put things in mine also, but there's so many lines and wires in there, I hate to take a chance of something getting pulled loose floating around inside the bombay. I'm gonna have to shield some of that stuff to feel safe about putting bombs in to drop.

Looks great Hellcat56, hope there wasn't much damage from the folding gear!!! That is a Ziroli isnt it? What engines you running, and what is the weight? Have manufactured some bombs out of spent Co2 cartridges I'm gonna try to drop from it when I feel comfortable with the flights. I don't know if I'm gonna have room in the bombay for much though, its got alot of stuff in there!!! How does yours handle? Any quirks that I might need to know?

hellcat56,

Great photos and a great looking aircraft. If one did not know, you could mistake the slide photo as a full scale. Thanks for sharing this with us. My dad won the B-25 plans at Warbirds Over Oklahoma. Says he would like to build it. Say are you attending West Texas Warbirds in Lubbock next month? Here is the RCU thread.

MarvinLoomis,

The bombs look scale. Could you post the materials and dimensions for the fins? Heck I am kind of slow, how about more photos of the assembly.

Thanks guys

Ok Warbirdrcer I'll try and post this hope it works. If not send me yer email and I'll send ya the file. I used Crossman spent CO2 cartridges there 12 gram. Cut flat brass sheet 1" x 1/32 or so. Attaching my fin pattern with dimensions, hope its readable. Cut out the fins all in one piece and then bend and fold the brass to make the square fin assembly. I used a small piece of 3/8" flex or flare copper pipe to make a bushing between the CO2 cartridge and in the square end of the brass fin gives you something to soldier the brass to the end of the cartridge. The assemblies weigh right at 2oz each, and seem to be weighted right for the business end of the assembly to drop like a real bomb did! Haven't been able to try them in the air yet, but just throwing them and watching them come down I think there gonna work great.

Finally figured out a way of installing the bombs in the bombay and not take the chance of them damaging any of the mechnics in the belly of the B25. Built a couple of bomb racks that hold the bombs from shifting around and will dump them out when the bombay doors are open. The racks are on the bombay doors and when closed are cradled just below my batteries. Might have to fasten those in a bit better to make sure they dont drop too!!!
