Default Century Jet rotating retracts

Richard L.,
The CJ retracts shown in your picture appear to be a new model: specifically for the Kyosho Corsair (see note at bottom of your picture). The set that I have is several years old and is for 1/8 scale Corsairs, and while retraction appears to be slightly greater than 90 deg, it is certainly not as great (95 deg) as the set shown in your pic. I would guess my set to be 91 or 92 deg.

You guys were almost right. Here is a picture of the CJ retract in my Hellcat:

I just measured the retract angle, and it turned out to be around 93°, not 95° like I said earlier. My bad.

Default Please Santa........

Sent my deposit in July, I'm starting to get a little anxious, any chance of delivery before X-mas? (Update please, on possible ship dates)
I was at my local hobby shopping, drooling over the H-9 Corsair, and it looks like there is enough room in the retract bays to substitute about any retracts you want (like the Sierras). Altho I have not seen any of these ARFs in action yet, I did see quite a few of the H-9 Mustangs last summer and the only problem with the entire plane was the flimsy landing gear, which caused many flip-overs due to the excessive flexing.

Please Santa, all I want for Christmas is a good set of rotationg retracts for my 1/8 scale Corsair

My Corsair build is now underway. Would be nice to have the gear as you do get them early in the process but I'm just skipping over that part as much as I can. Hope it doesn't cause a major malfunction down the line but I couldn't wait any longer. I've had the kit for what 8 years now?! Anyway, I'm taking the time to apply Corsairjock's suggestions in his thread for getting a little closer to scale.
It looks like the gear will be a nice complement to the airframe. Can't wait to see it standing on it's own legs!!!!

Has any one heard any news lately?

Seeing as how it is Christmas and New Year is coming up a week later, I don't expect to hear anything until after the 4th.
A man has family commitments too, right?

I requested an update about 2 weeks ago, well before the holiday season. It has now been well over 5 months since the requested 20 deposits were made, and 3 months beyond the 2 month available for delivery date. While it is perfectly reasonable that a man should have family time during this next week or so, I sure hope our requests for updates will be forthcoming after that.
Merry Christmas

Ha hah!

I have kidnapped Darrell and dragged him up here to Canada where he is now currently in my shoddily built "sweatshop" cranking out custom Sierra Precision retracts for me!!!

I'm gonna corner the market on these babies
And you thought Mr Stomper was fooling around. Last we heard anything was Dec 2.

Darrell, when you get a chance to drop by. Do you think these retracts will fit into the new hangar 9 Corsair. CJ just made a set for it, but I'm looking a a better option (as are all here).

This picture shows the measurements of the H-9 wing?

Please tell me I can make it work

Just for the record, that was a smaller and blurry version of a picture that I provided to Century Jet. With the plastic wheel well liner in place, the largest wheel that can be used is only 3-1/4" in diameter.

Thanks Rich. I knew someone sent it to CJ, just could remember who... As far as the tire; I planned to square it out and slap on some gear doors via the magical teachings of dionysusbacchus and his Royal Corsair. So with out the supplied wells I could prolly put the 3.5's in. which should be suitable for my field as well as the scale looks of the ship. I can't seem to find any mention of a wheel size for Darrell's gear but since he has said they are for .60 sized aircraft, I'd wager 3&1/4" +- 1/2". Which would be good cause I need as much ground clearance as possible with that 18.5" dia. prop I'll be swinging (love that RCV).

I guess if the Sierra gear don't work I always have that CJ gear you got done available.... Even that has to be better than the stock mech stuff....

nope... The Gear Gods have been quiet for a month... No doubt awaiting a sacrifice from us....
Quick quick!! Gather all the 615's you can find.. We must burn them in a giant bonfire!
Perhaps that'll get their attention. (or at the very least the attention of the local authorities [sm=bananahead.gif] )

Default I GIVE UP

That's it for me. I just got done cutting out the bottom wing sheeting and mounted my CJ retracts into the Corsair.

Asking for a refund of the deposit.

Pete
