Any word on the price of the Fairy Swordfish? I keep checking but it seems to be the only plane on VQ Models Web Site that doesn't have a price listed. Is there some special issue that prevents the price from being posted and will I have to wait until the day they arrive to find out what it's going to cost me? At least a rough idea would be helpful. When I ran the currency conversion for what the guys who bought from YT INTERNATIONAL payed, it came to better than $800 American and that did not include the [probably] $100 shipping we would have to pay here. So you see why I would like to know what kind of expense I am looking at. Thanks for your response. Tony.

I tried to email you and it bounced back, guess you are a busy bee getting loads of questions

Does the custom muffler for the 26cc fit the Aerovate 28cc?

mine is going to fly on an OS 108 BX, with pitts style muffler, twin exit pipes at the rear, i do NOT expect to have to fly at full throttle to keep it in the air, a good 91 2 stroke will fly it,
Alanc, yeah, the stuka will fly easily on a 91 or 1.08 2 stroke, but the individual wants to avoid using a 2 stroke and has a 1.20 4 stroke

Isnt the power of the 2 stroke 108 equal to that of a 4 stroke 120. I think the 108 rotates a 15 x 6 prop at around 10300 RPM.

Sunshyne...
Yes the aerovate 26cc and 28cc I was told have the same muffler exhaust dimensions...

Tomas,

I hope the Swordfish comes standard with the Torpedo for that price? It sure adds a scale look to the plane! I have one on reserve and look forward to it's arrival.

Thanks,

That was a very encouraging video, it flys well with a RCV 90 I think the 120 Four Stroke should be fine, now I can go on to mounting the engine. There is one more question does the plane need any down/up thrust besides side thrust (2 degree right should be ok) its not mentioned in the instructions. I will post some pictures once the plane is completed and thanks guys for the help.

Looks like you've found that your 120 will work just fine. As far as a 2 stroke 1.08 being equal to a 120 4 stroke? I cant answer that as I dont use 2 stroke glow motors, but from what ive read on various threads, id probably guess that a 1.08 2 stroke would be closer to something like a 140 4 stroke....except not having the torque to spin a big prop. That last item is why i dont use 2 strokes.

Some pics of my new ESM FW190 with a DLE30 and Seirra retracts. Thanks to Tomas for the advice and the retracts

This plane flys with fantastic authority with a 30cc gas engine onboard. BTW zero lead added.

I'm telling you, all they have to do is offer that FW-190 in a wingspan anything 85" inches and i will build two of them at once.

ESM has an 89" spitfire coming late feb/march so i would guess an 85"+ fw-190 is probably coming down the pipe as well at some point

Yeah well i think ESM is probably the most likely to produce one since other arf makers like Hangar 9 or Top Flite seem to avoid any larger Axis arf. But i would have to see it to believe it first. Im telling you, after a big Spit, its only fitting to make a big german fighter to match it from their line. an ME109 but FW-190 would be the ticket. Imagine, a fully enclosed GT80, that would be sweet! i'd build two, in different schemes of course.
