RE: Flugtag 09
I'm back Randy. Hi Todd. Currently working on the Pre-WII Luftwaffe stuff. 1/3 GTM Fokker D.VI on the table. Well.. I guess off the table and on to details. Having fun building for a change and really enjoying this one. Hope you guys are doing well in this horrible economy.

Interesting. If you read the "Pilot Rules" it say's that essentially there are no rules. (Except one house rule that the participants must wear a provided uniform...and wear black shoes!)
-Any model of any size can be flown
-No requirement for models to have previously been flown (such as Scale Masters or IMAA)
- There are no insurance requirements posted (such as AMA for example)
The event also features a beer garden that opens at 11:00 AM.
It seems to me that one could show up with a large, untested model with no insurance, have a few beers and go flying. AND there will be good media coverage to document the whole affair!
Wow, if this were a real event, I'd be staying far far away!

I believe that you live the closest, of anybody here, to the ''event.'' I was hoping that you had heard something.

Besides this "event" is very odd for me - wear black shoes !!?? Just missing the right arm straight and in a 45 degree angle as salute before takeoff.
Odd.....very odd. And yes swastikas belong on german ww2 airplanes - but not on a banner for a "fly-in"
As I said odd very odd.

If I remember correctly, wasn't Warlord going to build a 1/5th scale model of the Hindenburg? He was in talks with a company that built blimps from the tread on RCSB. IT would both be operated manned, or by radio control. interesting idea - but thats all that it turned out to be I guess.
