The guy running this thread is a Ziroli Corsair expert. Ask him about the CG. He has the plans. Dan.

I'll try to look at the plans later and get you the numbers. I am busy today with my business but should have it to you by 4pm CST.

What is the wingspan on your Corsair? If I remember correctly, Barry (NCIS) is building from a set of enlarged Ziroli plan with a wingspan of 124". If your plane is smaller, the CG will be different. [8D]

On the original 93" Ziroli Corsair kit the CG is between 5" to 5.5" from the LE.

Hope this helps.

Just go to www.ziroliplans.com

Under the Corsair plan, click the "Tech Spec" link. It lists all of the specifications of the Ziroli Corsair. In this case the CG is 5" back from leading edge of wing at the fuse with the gear up.

The best way to balance the Corsair is one gear up and one down. Sounds silly, but works out good. There is not a big a weight shift as many think.

Jay if you balance it at 5" it may be balanced but it's best to be slightly nose heavy. I would balance it at 5.5"

Jeff, thats an interesting technique and can see the merit. I always balance the Ziroli planes per the plan. Nick has done a great job of designing these models are are well proven.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you want a slightly nose heavy plane, the closer to the leading edge you balance makes the plane more nose heavy. In other words 5.5" is median, 5" is nose heavy.

wow guys thanks for all the info. i did look at the tech spec and found 5 inches from the leading edge. its way tail heavy now with a sachs 5.8 up front and batts up front gear up. so we plan to ad weight to the nose to help balance a little on the nose heavy side....just a bit.

thanks again...mike
