I can tell you 100% for sure that in it's current configuration, the horizontal and vertical tail surfaces on Strega are the same as a stock P-51. They are not clipped at all. The horzontal was clipped at one time, but it caused stability issues, so they put it back to stock size. The vertical tail has the stock offset taken out of it so that it is in line with the center of the fuse. The wings are clipped at the production break, and the incidence is different that stock. The cowl profile is also a bit different on the bottom to help direct the airflow back to the cut down scoop and dog house. Good luck with your build. I am planning to do the same thing to build "Sumpthin' Else"

The horizontal stab may or may not be the stock length but your pictures show without a doubt that they have been capped and do not have the same tip shape as a stock Mustang.

Correct. I worded that wrong. It should have said same length as stock. Of course everything on that airplane is tweaked slightly in some way or another. LD (Tiger's crew chief) told me that the only items on it that have not been modded in one form or another are the tail wheel, and exhaust shrouds.

Looking at getting her in the paint booth this week. She still need a prop and spinner, but that's another $400 that I just don't have right now. Will post pics of the paint job, and also Voodoo's new clear coat.

Nice choice!!! I'll be following this thread! I've seen this 'Witch' up close and personal at Reno. I would like to build Miss Ashley II or Begin the Beguine.

Today the fuselage was block sanded, then got her coat of white. Next is some tape and some red followed by some blue. Will post more pics as she progresses.

Ok so now I have all my parts....Have to order some new graphics though. Working on the canopy attachment because the air and electric will be under there. Can't wait to see that race prop from Solo. Have the Evolution 40GX gasser for it, and just watched one yank around the giant scale Top Flite P-40 with ease.......she should be a screamer. I get nervous just typing about it. Anyway.....Once we get the canopy situation squared away I'll get to posting build and paint pics. The liquid sheeting stuff is amazing. Forget who makes it.

Oh hey Matthias....I assume you are the same one from Facebook.

I got my decals from Callie Graphics, and I'm having the Lucas Oil painted since it's no longer Palazzo Estates.

Thank you.....

Just finished the air valve and servo for the retracts. This will be mounted on the wing so it's inside the fuselage when the wing is on. It only uses one quick disconnect that way. The air filler and tank will be mounted in the fuselage.

CowboyLifesaver,
I was just surfing RCU and came across your thread. I have started the TF Mustang, but will be quite awhile before I'm finished. Yours will be real nice when it's finished.

Thought you might like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mQRJ...eature=related

Watch the last minute of the video. I've never seen the exhaust in the dark before.

hey cowboy...

Yeah that is what i used on my CMP Zero.. it turns out to be very pricy even tho the look is overall the best.. the cans are 40 dollars a can meaning the actual chrome.. it took me 10 cans to cover the plane enough to eliminate any modeling... so yeah. ouch.. looks bar none the best.. but to do it rite.... its gonna cost ya

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9693991

if i did it again.. i think i would spend the extra money and do the spray chrome set up here.. like i said, cost more yeah.. but it'll look perfect
