Default Broken Air Fill Valve

This one-way air fill valve has been sitting unused for a few years. Now that it's time to use it, I discover that it doesn't hold the pressure. The pressurized air that I hand pumped all the way to 100 psi escapes freely.

I opened it up and I think there is a piece missing inside. The question for you guys, what does that piece look like? Can someone please open up theirs and take a picture of that piece inside? Maybe I can make a replacement, instead of buying a whole new valve.

Thanks in advance,
Juice

If it were me I would buy a better air fill from Sierra or Robart. Sierra has the best air fill and it is like a tire fill with the button.

I believe its an older robart valve, it takes a rubber disc inside to seal, as I recall they dont seem to be very reliable.

Yes, it is the older Robart valve. I bought it back when they one-way valve and the attachment for the fill chuck were two seperate pieces.

It makes sense for a rubber disc to go inside. I'll try something tonight, or else I'll head to the hobby shop this weekend.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I think its Romaire, and it was one of two pieces, one being a check valve, and the other the fill valve.  You have only one of the two parts.

Bob Violet models makes a really good fill valve that has a shrader fitting, like on your car tire, it's a very high quality one.

Hi i use the one way valve from old peddle bike inner tubes just cut the valve out clean up the rubber from the outside of the valve and you have a surface to solder on a mounting plate, they are a bit long so i recess them into the fuse.
Also when soldering the mounting plate unscrew the inner workings or you will melt the rubber inside. I have been using them for years and no problems.
To blow the retracts up i use a small cheap 12V. car tire compressor that you keep in the car for emergency use. You can buy the compressor in a Auto spares store you can get a cheap one over here for about $20, the Auto compressor connector fits directly onto the bike valve so no problem there. The bike and car valves are the same.

A Ball Needle achieves the same purpose, I've used one for years with the same type of 12 volt pump

It doesn't look like the Rhom Air unit I have.

This is what I have standardised for my retract equipped models.

I saw an thread detailing how to use a tyre valve stem adapted to the size tube retracts use by soldering nipples & adapters but for less than 20 bucks why fiddle about making something up? - John.
