RE: Kyosho Spitfire 90
Right ok its arrived!, on 1st inspection everything seems to be there, and what a nice spit she is, only thing concerned about is the elevator push-rod assy, cheap and nasty, will change these, what size carbon rod did you use for yours, and did it flex much?, might use the 2 into 1 system with metal T bar thats adjustable, the only problem is making sure it does,nt flex to much,or move around while in flight.

RE: Kyosho Spitfire 90
I guess now you see why I changed the wooden dowles to carbon rod. I can not remember what size outside diameter they were but the insides took my 2mm rod that connected to the elevator servo. This was roughed up and super glue in, could use expoxy too.
Only one carbon rod had the metal 2mm rod inserted.
I think the carbon rod had about 2mm wall thickness. Both carbon rods were bound together with nylon fishing line and super glued with rocket power (cyno chyristals)

As I understand it, NiCd have lower internal resistance than NiMH. 6v is 6v, but you might need a higher Ah (or mAh) pack if you choose NiMH cells owing to the lower max power rating. If continuous amp draw matches for the 4x sevos and NiMH pack, then fine... Otherwise, reinvest.

RE: Kyosho Spitfire 90
thanks paul.please could you tell me the rates of ailerons, elevators, and ruders.and the CG point??
mine has the cg point at 135mm,a little nose heavy, but i think is better.
final weight:5 KG.(10 pounds).good weight for this size
balanced without adding nose weight.

I have had this plane for a couple years now. Initially had a saito 125 in it using a 15x8. Stock gear. Plane flew great and has been mentioned, shes a real floater. I use flaps simply to slow her down as she doesnt need them for lift even in a dead calm condition.
Ive since taken the 125 out and put that in plane that needed the power(TF P-51 60 size). Now...this 90 size Spit is flying with a saito 91 and she still flies well. For its size, it weighs the same as most .60 warbirds....mine weighs 10.2 pounds last time i put it on the scale
Anyway.....ive used the stock retracts for the last 2 1/2 years, but now im putting in electrics. Both horizon(the e-flite retracts) and those from places like hobbyking would work fine and you could keep the wing in two pieces if you want without having to reconnect the fittings for a retract servo.
Myself, I have the e-flite 90-120 size in a graupner fw-190 d9 and they work great. I bought the 5mm strut size electric retracts from hobbyking and they only cost $8 (USD) per unit. You do have to get 5mm struts separately.

RE: Kyosho Spitfire 90
Hi Everybody
I have almost completed my Kyosho spitfire. The last thing I want to do is to paint on a yellow leading edge on the wing, which I think looks really good in the air. So I have the spray paint to hand, and the masking tape ready to apply.
I then have started to worry that when I remove the masking tape it may pull off the Kyosho covering / paint, has anybody any tips or done this?
