Skyshark P-40 Discontinued

I'm disappointed to see that Skyshark has discontinued their P40 ARF. I have the Sierra retracts and custom main wheels for this plane ($600 total) which are a work of art. Any P40 recommendations for these retracts?

I've got a set of Sierra's designed for the Ziroli P-40 in my ESM P-40 with 5 inch Dubro wheels if that's any help to you. I don't know if there is a difference between the Ziroli and Skyshark set though, maybe call Darrell. Cheers, Dave

If you like to build, the Jerry Bates P40 (82" wingspan) is the same size as the Skyshark. You can get a fiberglass fuselage form VicRC. The Ziroli P-40 is larger with a wingspan of 94".

Or maybe a Top Flite P-40 ARF. I saw one over the weekend, not bad for an ARF.

The Skyshark P-40 kits show up in the RCU Market Place, and on E-bay quite often. They are not "rare" yet.

Thanks for all the input guys. I actually really liked the Skyshark P40. I know a lot of people bashed it but mine always seemed to draw alot of attention at the field.

I would love to build but with 3 young kids, I'm lucky to get to the field twice a month let alone hours in the basement building. I might check out the TF P40.

Looks like there are still some more left. Both the Flying Tiger and British Camo Version are available on the website in the "Closeout" section. $389.95 with no hardware included.

I have heard that the sierra retracts are the only ones that fit this plane. Is this true? there is one local for dirt cheap.

Yes that is true. There would be a tremendous amount of hacking necessary to use Robarts.
Here's apic to give you some idea of the difference

The ARF was designed around a set of Century Jet retracts.
