I dont know about you guys but German/Axis aircraft are the hardest to replicate. the american planes are for the most part silver and or olive drab, the brits tan and forest green but them germans....wow! yea I am setting up to finish a meister 109 and there is just no way around it, there is nothing simple or uncomplicated. this will be my ultimate finishing challenge. Just had to vent a bit. you guys have a scheme or project that scares you or will test you to your limits? for us here in the midwest, its building an dfinishing time.....not tanning time:D

There are as many American planes in different shades of blue as well as green on the other front. Still I agree that German and Italian camo is the most difficult.

Some Japanese aircraft have difficult schemes! Their paint flaked off the airframes easily so replicating that looks like a challenge. Also, some of them had 'spinach' blotches with bare metal showing so that looks labor intensive. They had many intricate rudder and fin markings, too. Your -109 looks great! Ya gonna 'dirty' it up a bit?

Arup, that is the scheme I hope to replicate. If it aint dirty, it aint scale:D Leo, your right about the American aircraft. It seems to me to be about weathering but the axis including the Japanese with their cheap paints are ball breakers.

I'll be doing something along these lines in the not too distant future. Probably not quite as difficult as some of the German mottled schemes but I'm sure it will offer plenty of challenges! Good luck with the '109 Ram, cool paint job.

I'm scratch building from my own plans Ram. Design for the wing and tail surfaces is complete and constuction has started on those. Fuselage design is well advanced but still has a ways to go. I just got the motor last week which is what I was waiting for to resume work on it. This one is a custom design and build project for a customer.

Break? What is that? :D The prototype that I'm currently building is 1/3.65 scale (114" span). No idea at this point if I will offer the plans and parts for it, we'll see. Suppose it depends on how well it flies and if my glass man is interested in offering the parts. I have promised to draw the airplane at 1/5 scale for Jerry Bates as well (Since he provided most of the documentation for me, thanks Jerry!) and hope to make good on that promise in a reasonable time frame.
