Do you have a problem showing your crashes

Requirements to reply to this thread if you dont meet the requirements just read dont post
1. I am talking about YOUR OWN CRASHES
2. I really am NOT addressing this to you armchair pilots just the guys that fly-and crash

Seem like two schools of thought on this question
Some say they dont want anyone to see them
and
some say sure show them
my view is

YES show them, I made them i am not embarassed or ashamed of them
no big deal it is part of flying

What do you think

I would put up a poll but I dont know how

Ok, I'll bite.

Here is one of mine from the past... Particularly painful.

Preflight of my Ziroli Beech 18.

Normal takeoff in a crosswind.

Plane came off early. Commited and went to full throttle.

Mistake with the normal cartwheeling crash.

Outer wing panels are undamaged. Engines are fine. Retracts are fine too.

Painfull smile in the last shot.

Anyone looking for a project?

The photos are great
here is my z B 25
lost air in retracts
only were haning out
you can see the dirt coming up underneath the plane

this is one of my less damage crashes
i just dont have photos of the real bad ones

Rebel Flyer
man that plane is rebuildable really not a lot of damage to it
and
Red Gilmore
great piloting skills to get it back with only that much damage
the pond would have done a lot more damage i think

planes that fly will crash we just dont know when

My first real build, put in over 200 hrs and she lasted about 2hrs of flight time before radio interference.

A loose access hatch caused the wing to pressurize in flight and eventually explode:

Still made runway centerline though! Which is amazing, considering both receiver batteries were 300' down field:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../eurolast8.jpg

In this one, the motor shorted out, which caused the esc to catch fire. Very little damage. It actually took longer o get the burnt electric smell out than it did to fix it.

CMP Me 109 repainted in desert camo. Engine failed on short base to final. Altitude too low to pull out. Snap rolled and went through a grove of Russian Olive trees.. Fuse survived.

<span style="font-size: medium;">hellcat56,

As you say, crashing occassionally is a part of flying. Everyone eventually crashes, regardless of the pilot's proficiency.

So I'm not embarrassed about crashing EXCEPT when my father comes along to the field. He's s a retired Marine fighter pilot, and he gives me lots of grief if I do something imperfectly (i.e., aerobatic maneuver, landing, crash, etc.).</span>

I lost three planes into the ocean, I was doing rolls with moni motor glider10' over shore when plane torque rolled in , comepletely lost sight of orlick 130 over ocean..plane was too fast, my cool fournier rf5 sperber went into ocean, still don't know why..last seen heading towards phillipines... I don't have pics of crashes but will make effort... My thoughts about crashes are , " if you're gonna go in, go in so Damn hard that it's absolutely spectacular...

A friend once told me after losing two planes in a row,

" If you aint crashing.... You aint Flyin " http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ades_smile.gif

I lost so many planes that I"ve accepted the fact, To be considered a truely AVID flyer... you're gonna go in sometime.....

I'm one of the guys who typically don't post crash photos, mainly because I feel like an idiot and spend the rest of the day second guessing myself until I'm blue in the face. As I'm getting older though, I'm learning to just try and have a good laugh when something bad happens. "You have to laugh or you'll cry", as the saying goes. So, in the spirit of the thread, here's my latest handiwork.

Top-Flite 60 sized Corsair with a 35cc gasser, second flight. Got squirly on take off, and I forced it into the air with the help of the massive thrust to weight ratio. Bad idea! She took off straight toward the trees and full right rudder and aileron weren't enough to keep her out of the branches. The initial smack into the branch tore the firewall completely out of the plane and took out 2 inches of the leading edge on each side of the wing. The subsequent 40 ft drop into the ice actually didn't do much more. [X(]

The best thing about crashing and being poor is that it teaches you to learn repair skills. The airframe is back together and waiting to fly again. This time it will be at our flying club and not off of my buddy's frozen lake.

RE: Do you have a problem showing your crashes

You DONT have to have a photo to answer the question just an opinion!!!!!

So far the score is
100% dont like to crash
and
SURPRISE
100% dont mind showing the results

I think that number may be off because the guys who dont want to show
are a little hesitant to post here
SO
does anyone know HOW to add a Poll on this question
maybe they would speak up if they can keep secret

POLL anyoneI dont know how to do that!!

We over her in the UK have a differant aproach, we are a small island, flying sites are, in some places, hard fought for, its has been known for objectors to flying fields, when it goes to coart (and it does) to produce wreck pictures, taken from the clubs own website, to show just how much damage can be done with a plunging airframe, nothing like giving moaning gits more ammunition to garnish their cause, so, no, i would not show my crash pictures, if i had any, that is,but i have been known to buy a wreck, and rebuild it, not so often these days, its amazing what folk will just throw away, its wood, wood glues, doesnt it?

If you want to watch a crash go to the end of this video.
Cause was a dead Rx battery.
I learned a good lesson from that one.

If I have video of it I'll show it. I will never claim to be an expert so if I show a crash and can learn what I did wrong then it may save me from another crash down the road.

RE: Do you have a problem showing your crashes

I probably was involved in one of the most spectacular mid-air crashes seen in RC when my 13 foot Corsair tangled with Merlyn Graves 12 foot Ki-100. I have absolutely no problem displaying the crash, and I actually still get a chuckle from it...man it was spectacular. If you are going to have one, make it one to remember...!! Luckily a friend of mine got it all on video, and he asked if it was OK to post...I said please do. I never understood the embarrassment or anger of a crash, but we all react different. Yes, they all suck, but crashes are a reality.

To me, these are works that I enjoy building and flying, and I understand that it came come to a crashing end at any time. I have no problem with that. I have some planes 10+ years old, but obviously most will not live that long. Some people hit the casinos; I fly RC...same thing really:D

Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sIOr2LFd68 Go to 2:11 to see the carnage!

At least theres a CHANCE you could make some money at the casinohttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ey/msn/lol.gifThese are some great crashs and very sad to see so many beautiful planes destroyedhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...msn/crying.gifI know a guy who races stockcars, same thing, he blew up a $10,000 motor on the first race.
