Hi Rumen
work had begun on the 1/4 anton , nothing difficult with the built , now i will work on wings , i will slightly modify the gear mount to move forward the leg in the wing , i have sierra gear ; have you got a source to get scale wheels (170X45mm) ?
greats parts for your D9 (i know my next winter project ! )

fokke 01-21-2016 06:58 AM

WOW Charly !!! Great news , you have PM :)

Tell as more info and more pictures of work .

Great progress , what is the engine ?

Hi Rumen
other building pics will follow
engine is an old 3w160 bought nearly new , heavy as hell but it's perfect for the anton !!!
preparing the wing build , i should modified my sierra gear , legs too short as they are designed for the meister not difficult task but must do this before gluing gear mount ...

fokke 01-22-2016 04:00 AM

Nice choice of engine, because the Anton is with short nose and the balance is little bit difficult

How many milimetters short are the Meister scale from the original ?

The landing gear in 1/5 scale need to be 305mm long. In 1/4 need to be 387mm

schwalbe 1 01-23-2016 03:37 AM

the sierra i have is about 34cm , i will had 35mm , 34cm is correct when plane sit on ground with oléo partialy compressed but with this lenght gear don't fit well in gear bay in wing : wheel are too far from center line and haven't enought room , and if you choose to move the retracts you reduce the distance between two wheels , not good for ground stability ; with leg extended to 37.5cm i'm close to scale lenght

You are right !
The Sierra gear is shorter , I don\t know why , here is a picture

Hi Rumen , next batch of pics from building , you can see modification in location of retracts , wings in progress , flaps elevator ailerons near completion ; here i'm waiting for parts : wing joiner to complete wing , it would be better to have located wing joiner near longeron /near centre of pressure of wing to reduce tortion effect and increase stifness ...i choose an aluminium grade T6 tube 35 X 2.9mm for joiner 35 X 1 mm isn't enought for a 2.6m /20kg plane

Very nice picture and interesting method of work !!! fantastic job you made !

You think that will be better the hole for the tube need to be closer to the longeron?

great T72 nice model ,yes you see hiden under table a german tiger , 1/6 scale near 160kg !!! all metal construction kit from Armortek .....
next pics , wings joined , pic for tube location is correct , i have added glassfiber to reinforce joiner rib's
next step is complete planking of wing and adjust fuselage to receive wing

fokke 02-10-2016 12:40 AM

Great progress !
What is the fabric on the ailerons?

I see metal hinges, nice decision for this big bird

The Armortek are the bigest company for this toys, I like them very much , I know other big Russian company bor composite tanks http://bigtank.ru/ferdinand.htm maybe will be interesting for you :)

Thank you for the idea about tube holes !

yes , i think model will be glassed in few weeks ; i use 40 gr fiber and G4 filler (polyurethane) for it on all my models for a long time ago ; last year i use vinyl rivets for first time on a meister D9 and pleased with result so will do the same on the anton , now wood work is complete just have to do few things before glassing process .....

Very ,very nice progres !!!
Tel me more about this vinil rivets, ??? IF you need I can send you on the \Email very good and detailed plans viels for A8 and A5 with all rivets and panel lines ?

What paint scheme you plan to make ?

schwalbe 1 02-19-2016 03:29 PM

about vinyl rivets , it's the "Mirce" system , rivets are cut in vinyl and posed before paint , i have a vinyl cutter and for the D9 had to cut up to 35000 rivets , for the plans many thanks for your offer , i have many scale documentation, with panels line and rivets ; my objective isn't a perfect scale model but a nice semi-scale model
for the paint scheme , haven't choose perhaps something from JG 1 / 3 / 300 for the wings i should add bulges corresponding to weapons 's version

Ramstein44 02-20-2016 09:23 PM

I'm going with vinyl rivets also. Burning them in is just too time consuming and like you, I'm not looking to compete with the model, just look good. I used werk77 rivets last time.

Also, Rumen, what was your calculation on the balance point for the Dora?

schwalbe 1 02-29-2016 10:05 AM

model is glassed , i'm waiting for a sunny day for adding a coat of filler on model , next step is engine and surface détails

Very nice paint scheme ! I no words about your work .... You have a really great skills so I watch you work with big interest!
