I've a Z Ju87 in final stages of construction, but it will be a Ju-87G-2. Is your cockpit for the stock Z Ju87B or the new Dora version I've heard about?

I hope this doesn't come across as being too critical but you guys seem to be making some pretty nice cockpit details so I would like to suggest that you take a closer look at the radio transmitter and receiver. The proportions look to be a little off. I posted a drawing of the transmitter that has some dimensions. the trans. & recvr. are nearly identical in size, the recvr. being slightly narrower/shorter from top to bottom. If I can be of any help regarding this please let me know ,I just would like to see you get it as close to scale as possible.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1950561

There are some slight differences between the B & D cockpits mainly the weapons control box at the lower right on the instrument panel and the throttle quadrant is a little different. There may be a couple other things but those are the two that come to mind.

I gave a closer look to the transmitter and receiver, and i found several dimensions. Have you some other info about it? thx

I have used the 1/24 MPC/AIRFIX plastic model for my basic dimensions. Then the aero detail #11 for visual reference. I measured the plastic model with a vernier caliper and multiplied by 4.5 This gave me my scale dimension for the 2.25"/ft. scale. after making my replica I came across the drwg. that I posted and my scale version was almost an exact match to the dimensions on the drwg. another place to look at would be http://tehnoart.eu/design-1.html
Not really detailed but gives a good idea of the proportions. also you might want to exlplore any ME109 stuff cause it used the same radio/tx &rec.

:confused: Airfix is not so good for scale reference.
Have you some real plane reference? I'm trying to find more, but i think that the measure from the book of Bily Androvic are right.
Sometimes the angle of the photo may give a wrong proportion.
In the book they say that they took measures from the real palne.

well the drawing I posted in post 6 has dimensions, and its from the http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/index.htm website. It cost 20 $ to register but the wealth of info is well worth it. I would think you could work from that.

Glad you like it. If you need any help finding things (on the site) I may be able to help, I've been looking at this site for years and still come across new interesting stuff now & then. I printed out the picture of your radio set and drew in the curved 1/2 circle (dial?) using the center of the pointer as the center of the radius.And what to my wondering eye should I see, it wasn't that far off. I Think It was a little tight in a couple places, specially the receiver looks to need a bit more height, and the curve on the cover in the upper right of the trx. doesn't follow the radius line and could be adjusted to be concentric/parallel with the radius of the dial. Also the dial is actually raised up above the face on standoffs to allow for little clamp stops to be placed. I think you should have this molded in.perhaps the pointer could be molded separately and added after the dial is labeled so it rests on top of the dial. The Aero Detail book #11 D/G Stuka has some good pics and you can probably find a free download of the book on the web.
