Which P-47 Do I have?
Hey guys, I bought a fuse and wing along with the canopy frame and I was told it was a Yellow Aircraft P-47. The fuse fits the description, the bulkhead where the tailwheel goes looks right, the wingtip nav light recess areas look right, the elevators and ailerons are counterbalanced, BUT! The wing is composite and not foam core! The wingspan is 80 inches. I looked at the Robart, The CARF and the CJM but the wingspans on those are all greater than the YA Jug. So, the question is...did YA make a composite wing version of this plane or do I need to keep searching for what manufacturers Jug this is, The wing has molded in panel lines, integral belly pan and seamless integrated wheel wells. Thanks and your thoughts are appreciated. Lastly if any of you have the YA manual for this plane and would be willing to send me a copy that would be most appreciated.

Sounds like an Aerotech. I have the Yellow manual but I really don't think it is a Yellow.

The Aerotech p47 was very close in size to the Yellow one. Its slightly larger. It's was an all composite plane with moulded on panel lines etc. It was also heavier. It was produced by Wayne Seiwart several years ago.

Thanks, I believe you guys are correct! The wing and fuse are a work of art! What were these planes powered with? I have a Zenoah G-45 on electronic ignition sitting on the shelf, would that do the trick? Also, if the plane is all composite, are there any issues with installing the electronics (i.e. interference), I'd be using Futaba FAAST 2.4? What adhesive would I need to use and one of the most important questions, where is the CG? Of course any direction or advice is greatly appreciated!

Well, just for giggles I went down to the shop and measured the wingspan, it's 80 inches. Isn't the Aerotech 82 inches? I found a few pics of a Aerotech Jug and it looked like it had a two piece wing, instead of a one piece. Rat's just when I thought I had this nailed!

Some pics would help. Aerotech is not the only composite 80" jug out there. Some pic would help.

Okay guys here are a few pics. The wingspan is dead on 80 inches, the fuse length (front of cowl to back of rudder is right at 68 inches). Would love to know what kit but in the end it will be completed none the less.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1974130http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1974131http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1974132http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1974133http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1974134
