Retracts for Hawker Hurricane
Just got a ESM Hawker Hurricane and from what I have heard I need 95 degree retracts. I assume this is for the gear to suck up completely into wheel wells. What would be the difference between using 95 degree and 90 degree retracts? Thanks!

If the wing has dihedral, chances are you need 85 degree retracts.

No dihedral in center section, it's flat. Wheels retract to center.
Thanks! Bullseye52 :p |
Based on the drawings and pictures I've seen of the Hurricane, 90 degree retracts should work fine.

Sierra makes what you want, and VQ Warbirds has them in stock: http://www.vqwarbirds.com/product_in...e3a9c3169f29b9

This image makes the main strut look pretty perpendicular to me.
Don't think I'd spend too much time looking for a set of 95 degree mains if it were my project. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2143009 |
The Sierras are very nice as they rotate a few degrees during retraction to keep the wheel flat in the well and allow for a gear door that does not have to be at a "wonky" angle. Of course this only works if your gear is set up to retract slightly aft into the scale l location.

The Sierra's work the best for this model.
