Hangar 9 p47 30cc - 4 blade prop?
Hello guys
I'd like to ask you which would be the correct size of a 4 blade prop to this Hangar 9 p47 30cc? Sorry for my ignorance, never had a 4 blade before kind regards Calil |
Whatever 2-blade works well minus 2 inches of diameter.

You will have a hard time flying that plane with a 30 on a 4 blade. You will be disappointed in the lack of performance. I have the Hangar 9 P47 150. It is almost the same plane. I have a G62 on mine to swing a 4 blade and it fly's great. The G62 is twice the size of a 30. If you want to do a 4 blade go with at least a 50.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2173947

No argument that you lose performance with a 4-blade prop. The question however wasn't whether or not to use one, but what size is best. That is what my response is based upon; answering the posted question.

Ok, I personally don't think you will be able to fly that plane with a 30 size engine and a 4 blade prop. Bigger engine yes.

Thank you both, I believe both are right.

I have a DLE 55 on a Top Flite Tarheel Hal. It turned a 22x10 Xoar at about 7k on the ground. Flight performance was crisp and fast. A Beila 20x10x4 turns 6k on the ground. It flies scale-like if not a little sedate. The choice is one of taste, really. Check out a Youtube video by "Hans Thunderbolt" called "Maidenflight rc P-47DThunderbolt Top Flite."
Best regards. |
