This will be a thread about my new project, the Han9 P-47 20cc. I decided to get this plane and set it up Electric so I could go to AZ Electric Fest.

I unwrapped the plane during the Super Bowl. I hope to have itflying on Friday.

If if you have any questions I will do my best to answer quick.

I will be using the recommended electric setup; Power60 470kv Motor, EFlite 80amp esc, Spektrum AR9350 receiver and Spektrum A6110 servos.

I will I’ll be posting pics this week.

First observation Everything fits!!!

I'm just finishing up mine, went fairly smooth. Can you share your CG and final weigh? Thanks

tailskid 02-07-2018 08:34 PM

Tony, I just might take you up on that.

After 3 nights I have the plane flyable. Just need to CG and add the scale details.

Boy that was quick!

quist, Do you have to remove the wing to change the battery? Dan.

Battery access is from the top hatch. Very nice setup.

I balanced the plane today, 7000mah 6s and rx pack gives me the correct CG.

Great looking hatch. Thanks, Dan.

How did your maiden go?

Maiden flight day was great. Put 5 flights on it. By the 5 th flight I had my 79 year old buddy flying it. I’m flying on the iX12 radio and using the Spektrum AR9350 Rx.
It took some right Rud trim and down Elevator. With the 5000mah battery I’m at the back of the recommended CG. With the 7000mah in was in the middle of the recommended CG. The Jug flew great with both batteries. I am running a LIPO rx pack. This was needed for a correct balance without added lead.
The power with the recommended setup is very good and gives me an easy 6 minutes of aerobatic flight. I was flying in a 5-10 cross wind, it was no issue for this plane.
I did increase the high Aileron throw and decreased the expo and I’m flying on low Elevator rate.
Ground handling in the crosswind was not a problem.
No bounces on any of the 5 landings not even a tiny bounce.

Sounds like "Normal landing" for you :)

Denfly31 02-09-2018 06:50 PM

Congrats, thank you for sharing 🙂

Thanks Jerry, But It really did handle better then most small planes.

Being in the desert we have VERY dry conditions. Even the best covered models will wrinkle. This covering did also, I contacted the big wigs at Horizon for suggestions. I was given a couple to try and they both worked great. Backing material from Ultracote and a 175 degree iron worked the best for me. The backing paper keeps the iron from sticking to the printed surface. It is all ready for the AZ Electric Festival tomorrow.
I also have to add that I'm happy that the plane wasn't a slow pig with the recommended setup. I'm always skeptical of recommendations. This worked great.

That's good to know Tony, thanks for sharing.

Not much info out yet on this plane since it’s so new, I have one ordered and just happen to have a DLE 30 looking for a new home. I don’t want to use this engine if the weight of it requires ballast weight to be added to the rear of the plane. Anyone doing a gas set up with some insight as to weather or not this engine may be to heavy?
thanks.....

Hopefully resurrect this thread ... has anyone experience of cg issues when electric power and the retractable tailwheel fitted ?

If I added the retracting tail wheel I would need to add nose weight. Mine is balanced in the middle cg zone with the 6s 7000 lipo and rx pack in the nose. I don't think it would take much lead, but it would need some.

I had mine out flying on Sunday for 4 flights. It is a fun little plane. It will fly Knife edge from Horizon to Horizon.
