Hi Tim, If you are planning to install a Moki 180 radial I have a set of exhaust pipes specially made for the Moki 180 ( see photos) Unfortunately I lost my Meister Corsair on a midair and as you can see one of the pipes has small bend. I am can sale them for $140.00 Custom Pipes Rc sales them for about $230.00.
If yo are interested you can email me at [email protected]

Has anyone been able to change the programer to Mode B? This is what I have tried: Press Setting to get to the Group I want to change. Press Setting to get to the right side of the group. light is blue at this point. Press Setting to change blue to green (Mode Set). Press the + button to change Mode. Light blinks. Then press Setting for 3 sec. to reset. Cycle gear a few times. But no change. Still in Mode A. Any ideas?

Hello,

Nice build thread!

I am currently assembling this plane with a Saito 90r3. Do you have any photos of how you attached the tail wheel steering? I can't seem to find any photos of how others have it set up.

Thanks,

Same tiller as the rudder. Use a more inside hole to attach the wire as the tailwheel steering is more sensitive.

Try pressing the setting button until you get a blue A light then pess and hold settings for 3 secs to exit or just unplug the power. I have noticed that unless I cycle all the way through after a change in setting it won't hold the change .

What is the diameter of the main wheels?

Also

What is the extended strut length?

Thx in advance for any input

CK1 09-20-2020 03:30 AM

From strut base to axle centerline is 8"
The wheels are 5"

so I'm curious what engine you went with and how much nose weight you had to add?

AFK 10-28-2020 08:33 AM

i used DLE 120 with small 6mm plugs. I made small blister on the cowl to cover plug caps. did not balance it yet

I’m just now getting back to working on mine . I had to take a break and get a new hip installed . Getting the FG 90 setup and the cowl fitted this weekend , I hope !

Cowl mounting to get the best cooling with an FG90R3 .

I used this method on my TopRC Zero also . It removes the restrictive cowl ring from the cowl air exit area .

HiCurrent 11-10-2020 12:53 PM

Hi all,
will the moke 180 fits into the cowl nicely?

CK1 11-10-2020 01:17 PM

If I recall the Moki 180 radial has an outer diameter of about 250mm . The Corsair cowl inner diameter give or take a few for location is about 260mm so it will be a very close fit once you figure in thrust offset and cowl centering .

HiCurrent 11-10-2020 01:54 PM

So no one has tried it? Will the rocker arms hit the cowl or it will be fit.

gpman 11-10-2020 11:49 PM

I know that in Germany there is one with a moki 180 see the german Forum http://www.rc-network.de/threads/top...rpunkt.782725/

I flew my new TopRCModel Corsair today. At 40lbs it actually flies great! Barely needed any trim. No aileron trim required and just 2 clicks of down. Take off was simple, barely needed rudder inputs. My CG is .5" forward from the manual and I might actually be nose heavy as I required a bit of elevator hold at slower speed and much more with full flaps. With that much elevator hold during landing, I basically did not have enough elevator to prevent it from bouncing so many times that the left wings center section broke. Anyways it is repairable and I am encourage to fix it since it flew extremely well.

Another note, I think this wing could be a little weak in the gull wing area for its weight, but I have to admit, it was a pretty bouncy landing and that is my fault entirely.

CK1 11-18-2020 08:04 PM

fw190 , Sorry to hear about your mishap on landing . I'm glad it's repairable . I have wondered a little about the center sections strength . I have seen mine flex slightly while handling it during assembly . I was at one time curious about whether the wing joiners could remain removable from the center section . Once I discovered the flex I decided it's best to go ahead and bond the joiners permanently to the center section.
I do hope the repairs go well and you get it back in the air soon .

fw190 11-18-2020 08:08 PM

From what I have looked at the only substantial spar is actually where the wing joiner is and near retract area. I am gonna take some pics

heirmeistr 11-18-2020 09:28 PM

FW190,
Iím glad someone has flown this plane. Sorry about your landing. what engine did you go with and how much nose weight did you add?

fw190 11-18-2020 10:12 PM

I flew it with a BME100, put around 4lbs on the nose. People admired how well it flew, however not my landing...

I also notice the flex when we flip it over after bolting the wings on. I would say no pilon racing with this thing.. just easy warbird flying.

CK1 11-18-2020 11:23 PM

I was expecting (hoping) to see a better internal structure . It looks like they took too much material out of the spars ,if you can call them spars , in an attempt to lighten an area that shouldn't be sacrificed for shedding weight . It also looks like the bonding agent doesn't hold well to the skin and pulled loose easily . I hope we all don't experience a similar failure
