How hard
 

If i was about to fly my first warbird, how long would it be before i can buy and fly my own LARGE warbird. ( Top Flite P47 or P51 or F4U Corsair)
How hard is a large scale warbird to fly.

Tails...tuff question. But, to generalize, you would want to become proficient on a low wing high performance airplane, be it a warbird or other, tail dragger and become proficient in use of rudder. Once you have succeeded with that, you will find a large warbird to be a piece of cake to fly. P-47 most preferred for starts from your list. You will find a large warbird flies better and things happen a little slower as you cruise thru the air. All that extra lift from bigger surfaces, etc. They are not harder to fly, just more money up in the air. I can fly a 110 inch warbird better than I can a .60 size warbirds these days.

Your question is a difficult one because I don't know your abilities. Its fair to say that Warbirds fly heavier than sport and acro planes. This doesn't mean they are difficult but different. If you learn to fly the plane on the wing instead of the engine you will be ok. That technique uses the air speed over the wing to fly the plane instead of horsing it throught the air with lots of power. You will learn how the plane stalls and what it's flight envelope is once this is learned. Regards BobH.
