KenR,
I would appreciate any information you get about a graphics set for Marine Dream. I am planning on building a modified Meister Corsair this winter as a F-4U-1 Birdcage corsair and wanted to model it as Marine Dream. I don't know what size you were needing, but maybe two custom graphic sets would be cheaper than one. The biggest thing I would be interested in is a good representation of the nose art. With the size of the cowling on the meister, I am looking for a nose art probably in the range of 6-8 inches, so I would prefer not to have a grainy blob but a good quality print worthy of a Corsair. I can paint the insignias myself if needed. Also, is the Banka photo set of Ray Dieckman's FG-1D #19 currently flying as Marine Dream, or is it of the original F-4U-1 birdcage #576 Marine Dream flown by (I believe) Ed Olander out of Bouganville? Thanks for any information, -Scott Gizzie- |

Other than a vinyl decal, there are two things you can try, but you need to find the plastic model decal sheet for both (Eagle Strike Productions has a good website)
1- make your own decal - purchase decal paper (McGonigal paper has a website mcgpaper.com) - digital photo and photo edit the decal from the decal sheet - print your photo onto the paper I have not tried this with nose art, just sencil lettering. There is a RCU member with Marine's dream done withe McGonigal paper. I believe he found a graphic somewhere on the web and copied it. 2- (the method I prefer) Paint your own - digital photo and photo edit the decal from the decal sheet - make masks from frisket paper (low tack plastic film from any art store) - paint and mask, paint and mask, paint and mask |

Wow those look very nice. What i am looking for is a good image i can scan from or someone who has nose art on a disk already or even redraw them for me.
