Painting a TF Pilot "What paint should I use?"
Need to know what types of paint will work on a TF Pilot. I do not want a sticky mess and I want to do a scale paint job. What do you guys use for paint?

Use Model Masters Acryl to paint your pilot. That's what I always use to paint my own pilots.

I bought a TF Pilot for my H9 Mustang 60 and painted it 3 times with different paints and none did the job, they pealed easily, until I tried Umbrol enamels, they are flexible and stick very well to the material. They come in small cans, about 1/2 oz or less and you cand find them at hobby shops or modeling stores.
Hope this is useful to ya Happy flying |

Here are some excellent figure painting tips by Aces of Iron: [link]http://www.acesofiron.com/paint.htm[/link]
I also use artist oil on my pilots. |

Nice paint job but that's a damn ugly face on your pilot! Just a suggestion; the distortion can be taken out with a little heat from a heat gun and some stuffing poked-in real tight with a pencil or something. I also find myself sanding off the pimples with a dremel before painting it.

Yeah those flexible latex H9 pilots are tough to work with. I filled up the holes on the pilot's face with wood filler, but it still turned out pretty rough. The Aces of Iron pilots are better:
