I am giving serious thought to making the Pica FW190 my first scale warbird, or the TF GE P-47. How good are the documentation, instructions and prints, from Pica? I am also thinking of using the RCS 140, is that too much power, what is the engine equivalent to in a glow two or four cycle?

Evan,

Super nice work! You're doing an outstanding job and the photos and text on your site are very informative. My PCM -109 kit is packed for a relocation I have to make, but I hope to get going on it later this year. I've bookmarked your site and hope to see more photos as construction progresses.

pica

Chuck, The pica builds nicely for a first scale warbird but you must have some building experience. The instructions are in written form with no pictures, so having built a few planes from kits beforehand is a must. Having said that, the pica fw is not difficult and builds into an awesome flying airplane. On the other hand, the TF 60 size t-bolt is very easy to build, has great instructions and is one of the best flying 60 size warbirds out there. I highly reccomend it. My advice would be to do the T-bolt first and the pica fw second. The RCS 140 is the perfect size engine for either of these planes. It will fit entirely within the cowling of the t-bolt and will provide more than enough power. The rcs in my fw1909d9 has proven itself by performing flawlessly for over 80 flights. I would not hesitate to buy another.
