I'm looking for a reasonably priced P-51 arf and 4 stroke motor setup, preferably .60 to 1.20 size. Also, how good are magnum 4 strokes? I am considering one for power as they have a reasonable price. I have always used 2 strokes, but would like to make a change. This will be my first warbird as I currently fly 3-d models. Because I am used to 3-d performance, I am afraid of airframe issues. I had considered the hanger 9 model, but I am now leery as I have heard several stories of their airframes failing. I know I tend to throw planes around and put them under high stress. Any advise would be appreciated.

I would consider the World Models .60 sized P-51. It is about the same price as the H9, but has flaps. I can't speak intelligently on the H9, but the WM P-51 has an aluminum wing joiner. You should not have any structural issues with this. I fly this set up with a Magnum .91, and it flies well. I have owned a couple of Magnum 4-stroke engines, and I am happy with mine. They are not powerhouse engines, but they are reliable sport motors.

I agree , that world models is a nice plane and will be more realistic to warbird flight . The H9 planes are all very good flyers but they are so light they will not prepare you for a heavier warbird if that is your goal .---:DNot that heavier weight is ever a goal but most warbirds will be heavier then the 60 to 90 size H9 planes .

As far as magnums , they are very nice engine but I found that a drop of engine oil prior to every start really helps in the smooth operation .

Lastly , you can find some good deals on tower and E-bay on Os 4 strokes , I love the automatic priming of the os 4 strokes . Much better then the hand prlmer on the magnums .Its just another long stick sticking out the cowl [:'(]

Thanks for the info guys. However, now that I've been looking around, I'm strongly considering a skyshark me 109 with an rcv .91.

They are very nice lasor cut kits if you have the time to build , there great
