Warbird Servo Selection Help!

Hello!

I am building a KMP Typhoon w/ 73" wingspan and a flying weight around 14lbs. I am needing servo advice for the following surfaces. I have always used Futaba in other models.

Throttle x 1:
Rudder x 1:
Elevators x 2:
Ailerons x 2:
Flaps x 2:
Retract Air Valve x 1:

Thanks,

Perry

I use this calculator.

it's based on sound formulas

You should be able to run standard servos on everything except the rudder which would require something like Hitec 645 or equiv. You could run smaller servos on the throttle and air valve but not really worth the added expense. A good standard servo is the Hitec 425. You will need around a 1200 miliamp battery pack as a minimum for that setup.

I would use the equivalent of the Hitec 525 servos with one elevator servo, one standard servo for flaps flying in a scale manner. If you fly real high speed yank and bank increase torque values. I use 5 cell 1100mah packs with similiar setup. I use hs-225's for light weight even though they cost. I used one HS-545 for flaps in my 18lb 80" Platt Zero with a OS160.

I really appreciate the response(s).

I have somewhat narrowed it down for this bird. The one thing that I am doing is basically overpowering the KMP Typhoon basically for pleasure of high speed and some scale flying with throttle management.

Rudder, and Flaps: Futaba S9206 - 130oz @ 4.8v

Throttle: HITEC HS-5475HB - Karbonite

Elevators, and Ailerons: Futaba S9202 - .76oz @ 4.8v

Air Valve: Futaba S3001

Battery Power: 4.8v 4cell 1400mah Nicad from NOBS ??????

I have all the KMP kits and I always use Futaba 9202 servos on control surfaces and 225 hitec for throttle and air valve
Good solid choice if your bdget allows
