Help selecting a prop?

I'm preparing to use an FPE 3.2 gasser in my Dauntless. While the fullscale SBD actually flew with a 3-blade prop, for now, I plan to fly with a 2-blade and maybe have a 3-blade static prop for display. The fullscale plane used a black prop with yellow tips, so I'd like to at least have my 2-blade do the same. Any ideas on how I can do this? I'm assuming I could use a wood prop and paint it but not sure what the best prop brand/type is for this, and the proper technique.

The manufacturer recommends a 21 x 10 Mejzlik, Menz S or GRS Carbon Fiber prop for this engine, but they're carbon fiber and/or sport-3D style props. I'd like to find one that looks a little more scale. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Props......

Neo....You'll find a whole slew of ideas for this one........If its "aesthetics' you want ...I would go with a "static" prop and then choose a performance prop not being concerned about how it looks....I have done alot of "prop testing" if thats the correct term and found the "zinger props" are too-thin in the hub area and flex alot...had 1 of them explode in flt and heard others have had similar failures..........On my "Z" B-25 for example I have MA 3-blades done-up for static and run Menz 18x10 for flying.....on my "Z" P-47 I have a Q-75 for power and run a 22x12 Menz for performance...I use a smaller dia prop with more pitch for speed.....can use a 24x10 but too slow for me....... on a 3.2 such as you have(similar to G-62)...I might try a 22x10 or for more speed a 20x12 menz.........You'll find each plane responds alittle different to a selecBill.....ted prop......Once you've chosen a prop...paint it as you would like.....I just use a light coat of cheap enamel paint(black) and then paint the tips yellow....Bill....
