Where to get wing tubes and sockets?

Anyone know a good source for wing tube and sockets and at a "reasonable" price?

TNT Landing Gear, or does that qualify as unreasonable?

Not sure where you draw the line between reasonable and unreasonable pricing.

What I mean is; there must be a cheaper way or source for wing tubes and sockets. I just ordered a pair of 7/8" - 24" and with the shipping, came to $46.00. I don't know about you all, But that just seems like alot of cash for just acouple of aluminum tubes and sleeves. [sm=confused_smile.gif] Just looking ahead the next time I need some. [sm=50_50.gif]

You might want to check out McMaster-Carr Industrial Supplies.

I find that there are very few warbird building materials and accessories that are "at a "reasonable" price" ( consider the price of retracts! ), but here is a place that seems to specialize in warbird wing tubes and therfor has large selection:

If it's too expensive, better find a different hobby.

Wing tubes cost me nothing . I get some thin cardboard & wrap it a couple of layers around a piece of 5/8 " dowel . I use an old calendar , just the right weight . use ca & scotch tape to glue it .

Alum scrap yards, I just buy .049 wall tube left overs @ $2,50 a lb. last tube of 1 1/2" for my extra cost 6.00. Then I just wax it with partall release wax and wrap it with fiberglass or carbon fiber, vacum bag it , and thats it, wing tube. good luck!
