Clark 1/4 Spitfire

Hi, does anyone have any experience with this kit? It's very expensive, but also looks very detailed too.
Was wondering if anyone has built one, or knows someone who has, and what they have to say about it and the engine that comes with it.
Thanks!

We are flight testing one this week end so I will be able to give you a flight report.
Check this out for how forgiving the model is. Man I thought this Spittty was going in a couple of times but it just kept on flying.

I'll get back to you.

Yes, that is my Spitfire on that Youtube link. I found the engine/prop combination to be less than satisfactory. The 26x8 3 blade just didn;t have the umph to really haul it around. It is true it is more scale in appearnace, but I would prefer aX 2 blade for flying, or at least a 24x10 3 blade to get the RPM up. i never got over 5800 RPM on the groun, but with so little pitch, the plane would not get out of it's own way. The video does show the stability of a great model, however.

The Spitfire belongs to a friend of mine, Keith. Here is his story so far.

(just found out it will be next week end for test flight)

It will be worth waiting for.

I just got back from the storage place to get my old R700 and NER-649 Rx which had just sold on ebay. At least I could get at the chest of drawers they were in!

This Spit just doesn't seem to have the correct amount of dihedral to me. Could be an optical illusion I guess.

RE: Clark 1/4 Spitfire

I agree about the dihedral, looks way under what it should be. I can't speak about Clark's pitch sensitivity but my Yellow Spit was never that pitch sensitive. I'd check the CG of the plane, that might help.
