RE: where to buy a moki 250 radial
Try TBM, they had the Moki/RCS for the introductory price of $3695. You will like this engine as it is powerful and sounds awesome. As far as maintanence, check and adjust the valves after each hour of runtime, and oil the rockers and pushrods once before you start flying for the day.

RE: where to buy a moki 250 radial
I bought mine at the intro price a month ago from Troy.:D
There price now is $3895 which is still much cheaper then what the other company was charging. Dave |

Ditto on David Jackson's comments above. I have bought all mine (150, 250 and 400) through RCS/TBM. Troy Built Models is the only way to go. Great people, prompt professional service and the best prices. We're lucky they are all that since they're about the only place to buy them in the USA. Check them out. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/
Good luck and best wishes, Scott Prossen |

Hey David,
I'm trying to upload the pictures but I don't see them anywhere on here. Maybe when I hit OK they will show up??? Anyhow, I am planning to use a 400cc on a AMR 40% Waco that my father is building for us to fly in team events and I am working on a 30% P47 that will house another one. I had tried to post a picture of the Waco (top)wing framed up and one of me holding the intitial phase of the 47 "plug" construction shown for size reference. Thanks, Scott PS: Since you mentioned it, I can assure you that Obama has done nothing to help our business climate here in Florida. |

RE: where to buy a moki 250 radial
I got mine from Vogelsang. He's from Germany so he keeps in contact with Detlef who makes the turbulator for the 215, 250, 400 and older 150s. He's very knowledgeable about the current trends with these engines and it's more personal service than I've gotten from the bigger 'companies'.

He deserves our support. |

Go with Vogelsang-aeroscale, I bought my 150R from them. Glad I did. Glenn

You guys do realize you are answering a 2 year old post. The original poster bought his Moki 250s a while back and is already flying them.

LOL, and it started with an illegal posting, thanks argon.

I'm getting a Moki 250 From Gotz V. soon. Can anyone tell me what to do to pull the best sound out of the engine? I love the 400 but too big for this 122" P47 and also too much more money not to mention the cost of a correct scale prop and hub. Anyway, some 250's sound great on you tube and others don't sound as good. Best I've heard is on a P47 owned by Franz Obenauf. What has to be done to give the engine the best pulse and throaty sound?
|
The sound is all the same...it's the audio quality of the videos that kills some of the joy of these engines. The prop is a sound contributor too. A lower than necessary prop pitch can turn too high and make a whining sound. The engine likes to be loaded with prop pitch and does give a more robust sound overall. Mitch

Thanks Mitch, I figured it might have something to do with the camera. That's good news. I think a camera can do more injustice than embellish, which would mean the best sounding videos are closer to the the real thing.
Thanks again, Rock |
