Last year was a year of the HURRICANE! everything was scarce![8D]

Your right, I forgot that about Hurricaine 'Ike' had visited recently last year; it had wiped out Jetero RC Field, right?; I know I was talking to a guy from Houston last year, who said he was sill without power at his home, and attendance was down from previous years, looking forward to this years show.

Our group will be there again this year.

Ken is bringing the 42% Super Decathlon which is a trailer load in itself.

I don't know what I will bring yet. Last year it was all civilian and the year before was all warbird.

It is looking like my big Stinson isn't going to finish in time for this year so maybe I will bring one warbird and one civilian with me. I probably should fix the right retract mount in the Bearcat and bring it back.
Here it is at Monaville a few years back.

The field is better than it has ever been,,, really green, smooth, more open flying... all the BRUSH across the field is GONE, GONE !!!

RUNWAY from OBSERVATION DECK VIEW...

A few Bomberfield members hard at work... making more room for spectators on the TOP LEVEL!!

Look at that GREEN GRASS! No more brush across from the Grass runway!!!

BY POPULAR REQUEST and NOW that the RUNWAY HAS BEEN LENGTHENED.. THERE WILL BE MORE PILOT STATIONS further down the runway to the right .... Still have 5 aircraft stations, but now closer to true center !!!

NEW PILOT STATIONS ARE IN NOW! They are infront of where the LARGE PAVILLION is... So pilots will now be more "CENTERED on the 700ft long runway... Today there were a lot of people out there... Lots of flying, lots of working getting ready for all you ROWDY FRIENDS TO COME OVER and have a great time flying, visiting and sharing in good times!

BB's CONVAIR flew today again... looks great!

Well,,,, as promised... here you will see the Statue of Liberty with the FLAGS FLYING... also note the GREEN GRASS on the grass runway, and between all the taxiways and infield... NOTE THE NEW PILOT STATIONS that allow one to be "CENTERED" on the RUNWAY NOW !!

Special thanks to Doc and DIANA for making this happen... they have been watering, fertilizing, ant killing, and mowing/manicuring the lawn getting it ready for the B-17 EVENT!! Of course Doc has had time to play a little... here's his YOSEMITE SAM JET... he laid up his own fuse, cut his own cores and assembled it himself... Says it is one of only a handful that were made... looks fast just sitting there...

Picture with Doc is ED from Roundtop , TX . He's a new BOMBERFIELD member and has been helping out ALOT on TUESDAYS with Doc and DIANA... thanks ED!!!

Note the "ROOMIER" OBSERVATION DECK 2nd floor... Now with new benches in lieu of the unused announcer stand..
David Johns, Nick Stratos and company removed it to make more room for the anticipated record spectators...

That infamous (but hated!) bomb droppin' Zero will return (with help) to wreak havoc on unsuspected allied aircraft on the ground and in the air! Space City RC Warbirds will be there and look forward to this great show! Paul

No worries, THE FLYING ACE GORILLA is still at home guarding the front gate... although according to BB, the Gorilla is getting "OLD"
so BB painted a white beard on the ol' Gorilla !!!

Trailer and planes are already there. I can't wait. Now just to sit back and do the last minute stuff. Be there on Sept. 8 goning to to be a great event this year, new runway and all. Great that the IMAA has gotten involved with Bomberfield. BB has dedicated alot lot time(heart) and money over the years to build a rc field of his dreams for us to enjoy. Let's make this one the biggest and best. See Ya there.
