They are bound to have what you need.
Copying costs and postage can easily run $20 for any plan set, even from a private party.

humm ... i found some very detailed drawings of the battleship HMS rodney while looking for the Bismark. They are roughly 9344 x 13219 pixels 120 Mbs each ... 4 files 470 Mbs ... in .tiff format .... fortunely only 6 megas when compressed all four. Anyone interested i can send them gladly .... in the meantime ... im still looking for some plans/drawings/blueprints of the bismark or the Type VII C german uboat ... anyone knows where i can find one ? free is a must.
my email is [email protected].
thx.

Listen to Umi, it takes a lot of work to make a set of plans for any boat. If something is wrong, you'd be chewing out the designers butt! There is a lot of expense and time to do this and you expect someone to to it for free? Would you? I don't think so. If you can't afford the plans then how can you afford to build it?

i didnt said i cant afford the plans ... i simply do not have the patience to find a place that sells plans without credit card since i do not have one nor do i find it very reasonable/smart to buy for something u can get for free from the internet :\ ... im sure there are ppl out there that makes plans and wishes/likes to distribute them for free for other persons to use and they do feel happy for it and i thank them. Besides ... i have the HMS Rodney plans of a very high quality ... soo u can also consider it an exchange although i do not ask for anything for them if u ask.

For those who may be interested, there are some plans available on
[link=http://www.dreadnoughtproject.org/]http://www.dreadnoughtproject.org/[/link],
primarily early German designs, some without hull section lines, some with. Some pretty interesting ships there, and many of the drawings are works of art. Somw are great as supplements to your building plans for additional details (like the one or two that show how to rig sails on a destroyer if you have engine failure)

I agree with Ron, I mean it takes a lot of skill to make detailed plans that are correct.
I'm currently building the RMS Titanic and so far have paid 110$ on blueprints.
And also saying what Ron said if you can't afford the blueprints, or spend the time finding them
to buy them how could you build a detailed ship your self if you can't be pacient enough to
find and buy blueprints.
O and anyone who reads this I'm also looking for DKM Bismarck blueprints(for sale or free)
that are detailed for ship modeling so if you know where I could find some please e-mail me
at
[email protected]
o and sry for the long e-mail.

Scnell boat and PT boats are the easiest to find free...
http://www.prinzeugen.com/index.html

Also

http://www.kbismarck.com/

I know that http://www.floatingdrydock.com/ has some german plans in their "Sumrall series"
But I think the largest is the Scharnhorst, but you may be able to enlarge the hull lines for your use.

Taubsman was bought out by Loyalhannah dockyard but still offers a set of plans.

Welcome aboard --

I'm working on both a warship (1/144 Atlanta Light Cruiser) and a Lobster Boat (based on Glen-L Pot Luck)... the cruiser's been going on for a while, but the lobster boat's further along.

I'd like to hear more about your project -- though maybe we should go to the scale boats forum with it? (Doesn't qualify for warship combat, I'm pretty sure.)

Right click on the "MyComputer" icon and go to Properties>Advanced>Virtual Memeory "Change">... If you have the disk space, bump your initial size to 900, and the max to 1200-1600. Click OK , and see if that helps. If you are not on a broad band connection, the images may take a few minutes to load.

Good luck

I happily paid $20 for plans that I also found for free (well, they were given to me by another member on this board) I would much rather have the 10' long 3' wide piece of paper then a dozen and a half single sheets if you try to print them out yourself on your 8.5"x11" home printer. Even if you goto Kinkos (or another type of professional printing store) it will cost you $20 or more to get them printed.

Blueprints are just part of the price to play.

Making plans does take a lot of time. I guess that would mean those in the RC Airplane part of the hobby are nicer people. There are a lot (an understatement) of free airplane plans available, unlike the few boat plans available. It seems like we can all be better at sharing, and giving of our own as well.
