RCV 120 Muffler
I got the RCV 120 and have been running it in on a test stand -- I have just a little over an hour of runtime on the engine. I was running it today and noticed the engine exhaust note got considerably louder than what it has been, so I shut it of and looked over the engine and did not notice anything out of the ordinary -- I turned the engine over by hand using the prop and did not notice anything different there either, so I started it back up thinking I was just imagining things, and noticed the noise was not the same as on previous tanks -- so I shut it down again and checked the exhaust more closely this time and noticed the tip (cone shaped thingy) of the muffler rotates freely around -- it has not come completely off, but looks as if it might. I did not look at the muffler very close before running the engine the first time and was wondering if this is supposed to be like this or if this is where my louder exhaust note is coming from?

RE: RCV 120 Muffler
Hi
This isn't normal and could effect the exhaust note. We find that sometimes during the running in process, mufflers can fail due to the increased vibration. Once normal running is achieved this rarely happens.
Assuming your engine is still covered under warranty, we will be able to supply you with a new muffler. If you email me your details I can pop one in the post to you. In the meantime, as long as the exhaust note doesn't bother you, it is still fine to continue running the engine in.
Best regards
Laurenne
