Default H9 supercub engine

Hello, I have a H9 100" supercub and a new RCV 90-sp. Would this engine w/apc 18X12 be powerful enough to haul this plane around in a scale-like manner. The plane specs I have are for the H9 J3 cub but are very close to, if not the same as those of the supercub.
Wingspan: 100.00 inches
Wing Area: 1350.00 sq. inches
Wing Loading: 22.2 - 27.3 oz./sq.ft.
Weight: 14.50 Lbs.
Airfoil: Flat Bottom

What do you think?

Thanks, Mike

Default RE: H9 supercub engine

Hi Mike

Sorry for the delay in responding.

The RCV90SP would be marginal for that model. We normally say the RCV90SP can pull a model around 9lbs, so 14 1/2 may be too much. Saying that, it may have the torque to pull the engine around the sky slowly, but it wouldn't be my first choice for that plane (I think the kit recommends up to a 1.8 4-stroke - double the RCV90SP).

Best regards
