Default RCV .91 - this could happen to you!

My RCV .91 engine has been somewhat negleted for a couple of years, now, but it's spring and I figured "what-the-heck" let's start 'er up!

Almost got it running the first day - no luck. But the next morning I couldn't turn the prop more than 5 degrees either way! It felt like a rock was stuck in the cylinder and was stopping the piston.

Disassembled the engine and realized I still couldn't rotate the cylinder, in its housing, any more than 3 "teeth" either way.

I soaked the cylinder and its housing over night in alcohol and it finally loosened up and with a little more soaking and rotating the cylinder now rotates freely.

Apparently a piece of hard "varnish" got lodged in the bearing-chase because it took a lot of soaking to soften it up.

I guess the moral is - "clean 'em real good before you put 'em on the shelf."
