Engine adapter
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I'm in the midst of building a Top Flite Cessna 182 Skylane and I plan on installing a 120SP. I've already completed the firewall assembly and would like to utilize an 'adapter' that I can make to mount between the engine and existing firewall. I would make this out of aluminum. I've heard these planes typically require weight up front to balance, so I'm not too worried about the weight of the adapter. I've attached pics so you could see what I mean. Let me know if you think this would work and be able to handle the stresses, etc.. Thanks for any input! Richard |
RE: Engine adapter
Hi Richard
Thanks for your enquiry and images. Your mounting adapter looks good and should be able to handle any stresses. We would be very interested in how you get on, so please drop us a line once you have the engine mounted Best regards Laurenne |

Hi Laurenne
I had this adapter made up for my H 9 Corsair using a RCV 90. I can get better pics if you need them. But i figured the aluminium eng stand off is better than a wood set up. Grinder. |

Hi Grinder
Thanks for the photos. Your mount looks very good indeed. When I next update the website I would like to include a couple of these photos in our top tips section. The same goes for Richard when you complete yours Thanks again. Keep up the good work Laurenne |
RE: Engine adapter
No problem Laurenne, I'll try and get some better lighted pics for you of the adapter.
