LIGHTNING gear ratios. Spur gear adaptors?
SO I have been racing with a redcat lighting. Silvercan motor, 27 turn 18000rpm. 26 tooth pinion and 64 tooth spur.
I figure the ratio is 26:64:14:40 which translates to 2:8:5 or a 701 Final Drive Ratio.
Has anyone sucessfully replaced the center spurgears and used an adaptor plate to go with more conventional gears other than the metric mod pitch that is standard on these redcat, hsp and exceed cars?
I was looking at the 3-racing TT01 spur gear adaptor plate, or perhaps using a slipper clutch setup from an associated car so I can modify the pin thru the spurgear and use more options and perhaps64 pitch for more speed.
Thanks in advance.
