Default RC Course 202 Questions

Hello all,

I'm not completely new to the RC world but I've been out of it for about 20 years and now I'm trying get brought up to speed on the new lingo. I recently bought a couple Redcat Volcano EPX base model for me and my young kids to play around with. I've learned quite a bit over the last week but I need a little help filling in the blanks.

I hear people mentioning S2 or S3 (or maybe it's actually 2s and 3s. What does that refer to?

My Volcano came with a 2000mah battery. I purchased an additional 5000mah battery. I understand I will get more run time but are there any other benefits? and will the runtime be 2.5 times that of 2000?

I know there are several upgrades for the Volcano but is there anything that commonly breaks and thus I should upgrade it right away?

Thanks
