here is a pic with some more detail. I used some nuts too as you can see to create some more clearance.

Ehroof thanx for your good words. I was kinda uncertain if I have done something extravagant or something actually upgrading.
Once again Eh, your word counts!

put a set of chrome rims on it and you have a different truck!! It looks real good, do you feel a difference when you drive it with the new shocks??

it does feel different. it feels much more sturdy and I dont hear that painfull sound of the chasis banging on the ground every time I land a jump (nothing big, a couple of feet). those shocks can also be adjusted so there is spae for experimenting too. maybe though, if one changed the oil and the springs on the stock shocks would have had obtained the same results, but 50$ for a set of 8 aluminum shocks is not that bad...especially when you pay 22$ for a pair in redcat's site...

Ok I know this isent a redcat or himoto rc.This is what i'm going to do to all my rc's.
Its a traxxas nitro sport, and ive put in some blue led lights.I have ordered more for my volcano.
I have a roll bar with lights right now that i'm going to try and wire up on my volcano. Those led
lights, man do they cost a pretty penny. So guy's dont get mad cause I put my traxxas one here.
Its the only one that I have tried the lights on so far.
When the other lights get in,I will post pictures when i'm done.

Probaly will be in a couple of weeks though....
Sorry about the quality of the pictures,I slept durring photo shop 101
I still have some adjusting to do and the one picture is at night without
the camera flash.

[sm=punching.gif] Traxxas!!! [:@]

Haha seriously though that looks awesome, I can't wait to see the light bar. I've been thinking of mounting some leds to my buggy. There are some great mounting spots on the extra shock tower holes. What kit do you use and are they just powered by a little cr2032 battery? I was thinking about maybe just taking apart some of those led keychains and linking a bunch of those up. We'll see.

LMFAO....Ouch man be easy on my nads they are fragile as eggs, lol.
Actually it is 2 little finger flash lights that I picked up at Wal-mart.
Man you gotta love that store, lol.I took them apart and wired them.
Still has the little on/off switch, lol.I'm going to redo them later tonight.
To make them more stable while the truck is hauling butt.

Haha that's a good idea, I could pick up one of those flash lights that has a whole cluster of leds and just use that. My soldering skills suck but I'm sure i could get everything wired up real nice. I'm at work right now, but I might be able to head over to the store later tonight. I don't know what i'd use to actually mount them. I'm a sucker for a clean looking build no matter what it is. I'd rather not have it at all if it looks like crap. I know they sell some led mounts on ebay and stuff. Or maybe i could use the top of a soda bottle and cut some holes in it or somthing and use that as a mount. Hmm i dunno. I'll figure somthing out.

Right now I just have them pushed in the holes.I have velcro holding them to the truck shell.
So right now i'm just trying different things.I will let you know what I find thats the best way
to mount them.At least for me that is.If you come up with something better let me know.

I was thinking about buying a kit similar to this right [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8055844693&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT]Here[/link] I'd need to see if he'd ship me some resistors to work with a 9 volt battery. Cool thing about these is that they come with all the mounts and stuff already.

Diti: Those alum door mount and steering arms are sick man!! I might have to get them too Do they fit right into Volcano no problem? Or I have to modify a little to make it fit? And also can you use the orginal screws or I have to get different screws for them? Thanks !!

yeah they are fun, one less thing to worry about...
1. I used 1 or 2 washers to fill up the space between the doormounts and the lower arms.
2. the outer ball bearing of the hub does not fill perfectly the space there but for some weird reason I had no problems with that 'cause it seems to stay in place without moving at all (you can buy bearings if you see that it's that bad).
3. the stock screw that used to tie the to rod to the door mount is a little bigger (that funny bronze screw in the pic/I actually installed new ones, the bronze where the ones I found in a random drawer in my house hehe). some guys said that you can drill the hole bigger and use a nut. I just bought a pair of screws from a hardware store (it costs practicaly nothing and you don't need to mess up with your brand new toy :P)
4. you DONT need to worry about dogbones, they fit perfectly.
enjoy broah

Oohh.....check out the n00b's new e-Bay purchased Himoto Syclone...

I am new to this R/C stuff, but I have been wanting to buy a car for a long time. I have been reading a lot of the stuff here on the forum for the past couple of weeks while waiting on my car. After reading a lot of the negative comments around here, I was REALLY worried about my purchase. When it arrived last night and I looked at it, what a beautiful and complex piece of machinery it is!! I think I will enjoy toying with this buggy until I decide I might want something better.

Wish me luck, and I'll need ya'll's support!!

hey good luck man.
I know the feeling of opening that box...
enjoy!

a few tips I gathered the past month (my life's nitro experience LOL)
.
..
.
1. Dont mess with the Low speed needle as soon as you get to run it. leave that one for last... you might as well wont need to tune it at all
2. If your wheels keep spining no matter how low you bring the idle needle, your clutch spring is broken... get the traxxas one (ask ehroof)
3. If your gears strip wait untill chubbysdad brings in the metal gears before you buy any spares (http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/servlet/StoreFront)
I think you will need them
