RE: what did ya run
Hey guys, I'm new! I just got my Monsoon about a month ago. Since then I've been reading the Redcat forum. This is my first nitro vehicle. I grew up playing with electric Radio Shack specials and always envied the guys running the nitros. Well, here's the first video - [link=http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh172/vt_jjr/Monsoon/?action=view¤t=100_4187.flv]VT JJR backyard bashing[/link]
There is a "dirt pit" close to my house that would make for some great footage. I'll get there soon and get some video.

I know I've seen the link a dozen times on here about the 12t clutchbell, but want to make sure I get the right one. Would you please post a link from your website?
Thanks,

You know what... i have a 13 toolth hpi vented clutch bell for the savage if you want it... i am not useing it, it is too low geared for my tornado...
How much do you want for it and it will fit like the stock 10t without modifications?
Thanks,

Like I said before, I'm kinda new to all of this. I know the benefit of changing to a higher tooth clutch bell, but what are the negative aspects of increasing the tooth count (i.e. - higher the tooth count the more wear on the engine, run hotter)?
How much do you want for it and it will fit like the stock 10t without modifications?

You dont want a 17 tooth on the monsoon. It wont go. You cant use the hpi clutchbells on the 8th scale redcats like the monsoon or the avalanche either without mods. They have the extended clutchbell.

RE: what did ya run
I took out my monsoon this weekend for some jumping...it ran great until my exhaust broke off from a jump.
I made a video of it, and you can hear the exhaust coming off in mid air on the last jump

I built my jump out of cardboard that way its nice and light, easy to build and disposable. You just need to double up on everything and it is plenty strong. I've had kids jump it with their bmx bikes.

RE: what did ya run
Here's the dirt pit run. We ran there for about 20 minutes and this is the last couple minutes. Most of the video was shot with the camera recording from the hood of the car and we were out of the recording frame a lot of the time. I'll have to piece that one together. My buddies Revo broke down at the end so he picked up the camera and filmed until I ran out of nitro.
