Default Problems with pull start

Hi

I just was trying to start my tornado bb earlier but when pulling the pull start it seems like it only turns the engine over once or twice. It feels like it grabs and spins the engine one time but then loses grip and then it becomes really easy to pull. I have just recently put the aluminum exhaust on it but it still ran afterward. Yesterday it was doing the same thing but if i pulled it fast enough it would start up and it still ran good. I took the pull starter off and it didn't look like it had any problems. Also the little nut the is on the shaft spins the one way but not the other so i don't know whats wrong.

Thanks

Try cleaning the one-way-bearing with some WD-40. When you are done with a run, make sure the nose of the vehicle is down some. This will help keeping the one-way-bearing from accumulating excessive oil and becoming less responsive to the pull starter.

See my Tornado S-30 has a similar problem except that the pull starter is very difficult to pull. Seems like its catching on something.

How do you get the pull start off without having the clock spring fly out? Mines doing the same thing. I'll have to try storing it with the front lower.

Just start to pull the pull start off, and then get a screw driver and hold the part that spins inside the housing.

sounds like your engine is just flooded. take out the glow plug, tip the buggy upside down, and pull the pullstart a few times to clear out the excess fuel.
