RE: 1/5 scale
You can usually find a pretty good deal here: http://www.rufaster.com/RedcatRacingRampageMT.aspx
Honestly though, I'd suggest just getting the standard model and upgrading as you go. I've got the TT5, and its pretty good as is. All I've done to it was throw HPI Baja hubs on it, 27cc top end, DDM Dominator, aluminum gear plate, mcd axles... and its pretty stout. It has brought me the most fun per dollar I've spent on an rc, gotta love the audience it brings too, "What is that thing?"

um no? I don't even have a muffler/silencer on it. I have no problems running it around people, in fact, people follow the sound to find me so they can watch.

I have the Rampage Mt and love it, I put the Redcat 050024 Aluminum polished tuned pipe on and it is a bit loud but it really wakes the truck, VERY big difference. Goes great through snow (like 4-5 inches) and is a monster in the dirt. I love the fact that I don't have to have a glow starter with me to start it.

Some complain that they are ugly pipes What they don't realize is that the pipe is shaped to be well protected in almost any rollover thought possible. My pipe has yet to be damaged from a rollover. They also don't realize how much power the "ugly" pipe gives the engine.
I love the pipe, one happy purchase! Snagged it on ebay for $100.00

no probs at all when it comes to gettin at the tank. No hot pipe in the way when I'm refueling (not that I refuel when the engine is running, thats a no no!).
The only downer is that it doesn't have any DDM branding on it like Pro Circuit does to their 2 cycle pipes. Well, it doesn't have any branding on it!

Yea the redcat pipe blocks the tank a bit. Pipe is VERY loud. I could not believe the difference between the stock muffler and the pipe though. It was a bit of a dog off the line with the stock muffler and when I piped it, I was amazed what a completely different truck it was, And now it will do really cool donuts on black top.

i would go for the rampage, but i dont think the pro is worth the extra cash. there pretty good as is. i have 3 ramps. my first one i equipped with gobs of alloy and im still knowhere nere the price of a mt pro. plus the redcat pipe will need to be upgraded and the alloy cage is for the birds. save your money for better radio gear, pipe, metal gears and a decant top end(motor).. with all that you'll still have some cash for a little bit of alloy upgrades.

RE: 1/5 scale
I am now confused after reading quite a bit about Gasoline RCs over the last week. They are so many brands, but all look similar to me. Please let me know which company makes for whom?
Is Redcat = Smartech = Nutech ? Is Himoto = HSP (high Speed model) = XRC? Is Smartech big foot = Duratrax Firehammer
Has Duratrax discontinued all their Gasoline rcs?
