I was thinking of getting one since I have waited a good 9 months for tower to have a protos (liked it when I saw it), but now have given up on getting it.
I saw the Aftershock 3.5 and thought for the price it was really good truck, but when I saw a video on youtube about it I saw the spur was plastic. Now I don't have a problem with that but wondered are the trans gears are plastic also? Or if there were plans to sell steel gears as hop ups? Though plastic is cheap and helps keep damage in the drivetrain down I don't want to have to replace them every month or so.
Also the engine mounts, Since there is the 3.0 and the 3.5 im going to guess the mounts are different for each truck?
Thanks

Well ya its a plastic spur, but it should have a slipper clutch. So if the power is too much loosen the slipper a bit so it doesnt eat the spur.

If you are thinking about upgrade from 3 to 3.5 the mounts cost 6.00.
But the 3.0 cost 199.00 and the 3.5 239.00 so for extra 40 you get the motor already installed

Yeah but I have an old VX 18 and a Force .25 I would like to run into the ground first. I don't have alot of dirt where I live so it's going to be just a road and camping basher. Also since somehow I fried both recievers in my exceed and ofna 9.5 I can still use the others also, just swap them out when I want to drive something else.
Also do you know if the trans gears are plastic also? Should they hold up ok in the dirt and rocks? I just hope the dont strip out fast.

ya its a sealed tranny so the dirt and rocks shouldnt mess with it. And if you set your slipper right the motor shouldnt tear up the tranny.

I have abackdraft 3.5. The thing flies. I also have a plastic spur gear. I have put 3 gallans of fuel threw it and replaced 1 spur gear. If I cant break it no one can. I did stock up on them though.
