RE: racing redcat products
Ive not heard of any "pro" drivers being sponsored by Redcat, but I've read in the forums about members using the Truggy at local tracks, and doing pretty good with them! Im not sure what platform Redcat is shooting for, but I imagine it's the basher market, since all their models are "ready to run" (RTR) and stuff thats geared toward racingusually comes in a "kit" form, so you can build it with the components you want.. Maybe the Redcat stuff is heavier than other "racing" aimed stuff, but that's about the only thing I can think of that would keep them from being as compatetive as any.. They offer all the hop-ups that you can think of, and all the necessary setup features (camber, caster, tow, etc.)are adjustable, so it appears they have everything needed to take home a trophy, as long as the driver does his job! If there's a particular model your wondering about, look up the thread for it in the "Support Threads"... If anyone is racing it, they'll probablyhave info in those support threads about it!! Good luck and welcome to the forum!!

Dave, you mention an aftermarket wing you used on the Tornado.. You didnt happen to try any aftermarket bodies did ya?? Ive been trying to find a clear body to paint, for my Tornado, since I got it.. But all I can find is prepainted bodies.. And the deminsions of theTornado donteven comeclose to the other 1/10 4x4 buggies I've compared it to.. I cant even find one thats close..Thanks for any info!

I have seen a couple of the 1/8 scale brushless buggies and stadium trucks during practice at a couple of tracks. One guy with a truck said he raced it a few times and did very well. I got a quick look at the truck and it looked pretty stock except for some Zippy lipos and Proline tires. Was still running the Stock Redcat 2.4 radio.
I have a Vortex EPX and Just picked up a ground Pounder. I'm gonna run some track laps with the Vortex once I get some decent tires. So far both have been great trucks.

Yea, the Himoto and Exceed (and a couple others) are the same, but they're also all out of clear bodies.. They must all come from the same place, and the word I got was they shipped out cases of bodies but they were all prepainted, now noone will order more till all the painted ones sell.. So basically Im outta luck unless i want to try stripping the paint off a prepaint, or finding an aftermarket that's close enough to make fit.. Seem everytime I find something that's close length wise, it's way to narrow.. Oh well, I'll contiue the hunt!!

I have raced my Aftershock 8E indoors on carpet in a 1/10 scale short course open class. Other racers didn't know what hit'em especially when I grabbed a handful of throttle and bolted on by.
If you intend on racing the 8E, upgrade the c-hubs and steering drag link. Other than that it's been awesome.
