nitro caldera 3.0 gear mesh question

hey guys, i was just wondering if you have to set the gear mesh for the caldera 3.0? i tried loosening the screws holding the engine in place with an allen wrench and they are good and set, so i'm wondering if it is set by the factory and loctited at the factory? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Isee the factory using loctite on engine bolts, the gear mesh should be checked and set periodically.

i checked the gear mesh using a piece of paper and it seemed right on the money.  so i'm assuming the factory set it.

You should be good to go. Just keep an eye on it during the life of your truck.

is the gear mesh something that moves out of position very often? obviously with this being the caldera 3.0 and a monster truck, i'm going to be beating the heck out of it.

I only have a problem with the gear mesh on my rc's when I crash, and that's because it strips them out, but generally your mesh should stay fairly consistent once properly set

Wear and tear. Maintaining the the proper mesh will lengthen the life of your gear.

can someone define "crash" to me. there is a track in Yukon that i plan on running with my caldera, mainly just for fun, and there are quite a few big jumps. would you consider a heavy landing from a big jump a "crash"?

As long as the suspension isnt bottoming out too hard you should be fine.

well i define a a crash as me taking my tmaxx going full speed in second gear and running it into a tree (they like to jump out at ya)

lol, okay. the way these things are built i figured one good jump wouldn't destroy it.</p>
