ESC amperage question

I bought a new Tornado EPX Pro. As I was looking at some of the details in the spec sheet I noticed that the motor amperage is 56A but the ESC is a 45A rating. Won't the motor fry the ESC if it draws more amps then the ESC can handle? This came with a 7.2V NiMH 1800mAh battery.

I believed that means the motor is able to handle 56 continuous amps.

Your ESC is rated at 45 continuous amps and has a burst current handling of 220 amps or 260 amps depending on either the WP-S10C or WP-S10E ESC that is in the vehicle.

I think the confusion was the motor says 56a but the ESC says 45a

Thanks for the help guys. The confusion for me was also that the motor was listed by its MAX amperage at 56amps while the ESC was listed with its continuous amperage of 45amps. I had to dig but found that the ESC can handle a peak amperage of 220amps. I knew it didn't make sense. None of the documentation from Redcat was very clear or complete.
