FAIL SAFE
Just a suggestion guys!
With all the radio problems that I've been reading. Simple fix is a fail safe. For those who don't know what it is? Simple it connects in between your reciever and your throtle/brake servo. You set it to apply brakes if you lose radio contact. You lose signal it applies brakes No more running wild RC's. They run about $30.00 nib at lhs. I will not run anything without one. check e-bay search fail safe. Just my 2 cents. |
RE: FAIL SAFE
failsafes run down batteries even when the switch is off, better off with a throttle spring what returns throttle to idle when its not recieving signal. failsafes do not help when batteries fall out of the holder.

RE: FAIL SAFE
Don't understand your reasoning , if switch is off theres no power to your reciever.
So how does it run down battery? It connects between reciever and servo. With your reasoning the servos must be running baterys down too??? If your batterys fall out well your in trouble thou!!![&o] the one I us is a OFNA Mirco Failsafe,FU/JR/AIR/HI part# 91002 |
RE: FAIL SAFE
too much of an investment not too use both. Ive got fail safes and return springs on on both my rcs[8D]
Overkill yeah but the only runaways Ive had have been due to my dumb ***** forgeting to put the throttle linkage back on after reinstalling the motor. Trust me dudes, this is one mistake you definitely dont want to make. Especially not twice like I have. Gotta stop gettin in a hurry[&o] |
RE: FAIL SAFE
I use the venom smart temp, loaded with features although the radio hasnt bugged out on me so I use it more as a temp/voltage monitor. Still worth the $40.

RE: FAIL SAFE
for some reason, the car i have with the failsafe always runs the batteries low, the other cars with out it the batteries last a long time. i said the same thing but i think it somehow still draws power, now that i disconnect it when i put it away the batteries last longer.

RE: FAIL SAFE
hey nitrosteve, does your venom cause glitching when your radio is off and the failsafe has switched into temp monitor mode? I know its silly cause it doesnt seem to matter when the radio is on but I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on why this happens. I assume that for some reason that the failsafe is backfeeding to the reciever. I just hope that it doesnt cause control problems. Im probably being paranoid but you see Im going to break in a brand new MGT tomarrow and I dont want any surprizes[:-]
