answer this ASAP
Does anyone know how to make the redcat tornado xp have more ground clearance so when i jump or whatever it wont bottom out???
|
RE: answer this ASAP
hey dude i know all about the ground clearence problem... lol..
i have the HiMoto Syclone same as the tornado.. i took all four shocks apart and drained the oil out and refilled them with 50weight team associated shock oil, then i added some spring spacer and the buggy sits up way higher than before |
RE: answer this ASAP
ok...great idea ill try that on friday......how much more clearance did it add????
|
RE: answer this ASAP
i would say it added at least almost 2inches of clearence to the bottom of the car
now i used springs spacers that were off a traxxas t-maxx and they were about a 1/4 inch thick so they shoul work good for u too.. now on the front shocks, when you take them apart all i did was hold the spring in my hand and streched them out some, i havent added the spring spacers up front yet.. hope this helps ya, any other questions pm me or email me [email protected] |
RE: answer this ASAP
so then if i just take the spring off and stretch it out more it will give " some " more clearance??
|
RE: answer this ASAP
yeah thats what i did in the front, i also did the rear the same to but thats where i also added the t-maxx spring spacers..
since i added the spacers to the rear it is also alot firmer, and DOES NOT SAG anymore either |
RE: answer this ASAP
would u happen to have anymore tmaxx spacers that maybe u could send me???? i have no friends with tmaxxes
|
RE: answer this ASAP
Move the top of the shocks to the lowest setting in the shock tower,if you need more move the bottom of the shocks to the setting closest to the center of the buggy. If you need more than that you might have to bend back or cut off the little tabs on the chassis that are there to limit how low the suspension arms will go.

RE: answer this ASAP
I know I'm like a year late but which picture is raised and where can I buy spacers?
|
RE: answer this ASAP
The spacers should have came with it. If not you can get some from your LHS, Traxxas, Cen, HPI any 1/10th scale spring spacers should work.
