exhaust gasket problem

hey guys i gotta a problem with my exhaust not sealing. when i removed the engine to replace the clutch spring, put on the exhaust used some rtv for the exhaust gasket. that didnt work. it leaked... went to the lhs by me and they only had a traxxas gasket that did match up but.... it leaked as well.

so after all this i was gettin kinda PO'ed. So today i went to the other hobby shop here and they gave me an hpi gasket that was for the .18 and it is identical to my .18 came home installed it, ran it, and it still seems to be leaking!!!!! I just dont get it???

I checked the manifold before install and all old gasket material was off it as was the motor... so i'm not sure if the manifold warped on me some how or what?

i'm gonna try and change the gasket 1 more time and if it still does leak its going to the hobby shop and they'll fix it.... or i'll just scrap the stock manifold and get that HPI header for it...

any ideas??????????????

I'm gonna try one of those HPI headers. I think it bolts right up.
It should add some power.

Take some smooth sand paper and put it on flat surface. Then rub the header back and forth on it, keeping it flat, and then put a little gasket sealer on it and it should be fine. Thats what I do. the paper gaskets get oil logged, and fall apart.

hey i talked to a friend of mine and he said to use copper shielding as a gasket. cause its supposed to crush and fill any inperfections in the metal so i'm going to try that and post back up here
