Volcano Torque Problem

I have just received my Volcano in the mail yesterday, and after breaking in the motor, the muffler has fallen off 3 times, losing 2 screws each time!!
But that is not my current problem, my current problem is that the front two wheels spin easily twice as much as the back two, they just keep spinning when i push us the throttle, while the back are just kinda there not really working.
Just wanna know if this is what is supposed to be happening.

is a back axle broke?

Maybe the little grub screw coming off the center differential for the back tires is loose. This picture is off of the 2 speed transmission but the idea is baisically the same.

Try tightening that little guy back onto the shaft. Let us know if that does it.

Also, loctite that sucker!
Loctite is the nitro RC's best friend. I use a loctite stick, less mess and it doesn't dribble all over your toolbox:D

use blue locktite not the red, red is permanent and you will have a real hard time taking a screw out.

RE: Volcano Torque Problem

ok, i screwed the tiny screw in to the point where i almost broke my hex driver. Now, when i try to roll it on the ground, it gets stuck and the front tires cease moving unless i go backwards. It still has way too much torque in front.
I also have a new problem where the front wheels wobble alot when at top speed.
What next?

PS. the back axle isn't broke

Was the screw loose at all or did you just screw it tight for good measure? Unfortunately I don't have a volcano so I can't help you much with the center differential. But check to see if all the gears are spinning freely and aren't stripped. Because if the front tires are getting more power than the rear I'm guessing that your problem is going to be somwhere in that center diff. Try taking it out and examining it for anything out of whack. Then with it out you can see if your front and rear wheels are binding at all. Spin the differential shafts on the front and rear to see if they're both spinning freely. You've gotta somehow try to isolate what the problem is.

The wheels could be wobbling because they're off balance. There may be some dirt or water that has gotten in them and is throwing them off at speed. Also check to make sure that the bolts holding them on are tight.

Are one of the dogbones(front driveshafts to the wheels) bent? Also hold the truck off of the ground and spin 1 front tire. The other tire should spin freely in the opposite direction. If not you may have a bad front differential. if that's OK then keep 1 rear and 1 front tire on the ground and try it. The 2 tires in the air should spin free. Check you brake to be sure it's not dragging. When you tightened that grub screw down was it tightening to the flat spot on the shaft???

i have just edited this message, because i didn't fix the problem. After doing what every one said to do, i am going to make a video of what is going on with my volcano for you guys to see and help me. Should be done in about an hour.

never mind guys, the crappy radio died, the volcano hit a wall goin full speed, the chassis is bent at 30 degrees.
I gave up and bought a traxxas revo and have had no problems at all with it.
