Ok now guys i bought my hurricane pro a little over a month ago but hadn't gotten the time to breakin before now!! (yeah i know it sounds crazy) Can someone explain the best method of breakin for the engine, i've heard much talk of the heat cycle method but haven't had a good explaination of how to actually go about it. RE: Proper Engine Breakin Procedure!?!
Hey Charlie here's a link to OFNA's break in proceedure. I did this with the Volcano. With the Savage I did 1/2 tank at idle and then the rest on a level parking lot driving very slowly and running thru 4 tanks real rich then started leaning it out and tuning it up. Everyone's got their own opinion on break in but the Redcat manual I have has a pretty crappy break in procedure. Just take it easy and run it real rich for the first 2-3 tanks. When the engine is off or runs out of fuel make sure the piston is at bottom dead center. Lowest point.
OH and read this Page!:D[link]http://www.ofna.com/guide-fuel.html[/link] |

RE: Proper Engine Breakin Procedure!?!
When you take your glow plug out you can see your piston. Pull your pull stater very lightly and you can see your piston go down after a slight pull on your pull cord. You will also get a good felling for this method so you won't have to take your glow plug out anymore to see if it is down. Try this before starting you car just so you can get a good idea of what it feel like and looks like. I also had to ask this Question. I hope this helps. Greg
