volcano sv

I was wondering if anyone could help me, i recently got a volcano sv, and im new to nitro motors. Ive been trying to tune this thing in for over a week now, and I can get it to run, but it stalls when I break, when I get this fixed, it stalls when I gas it. So now Im back to square one, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have been having similar problems and still havent gotten the truck straightened around. I am starting to wonder if its not all just human error if their is something wrong with the trucks as I have replaced to many parts already with no results (gaskets, transmission gear, recoil, carb post nut). My next step will be the hobby shop see if they can help for $$$ per hour even though they have never heard of Redcat racing. Frustration is running high and I'm not new to working on motors just the nitro ones.

sounds like your transmitter and idle are not set up correctly. you need to set your trim to nuetral (center), then adjust your carb so it only open 1mm (clockwise is to open c clockwise is to close). the trim shouldnt control your idle. make sure when you give it some brake that the opening in the carb doesnt close too.
your low end should be even with the collar and the high end should be 2-1/2 to 3 turns out.

Hope this helps.

Carefully follow the break-in and tuning posts on this forum. Some motors are a pain to get tuned and broke in some are easy. It's just the luck of the draw on any motor.
